Eric Johnson is a faculty member at the Columbia Business School at Columbia University where he is the inaugural holder of the Norman Eig Chair of Business, and Director of the Center for Decision Sciences. His research examines the interface between Behavioral Decision Research, Economics and the decisions made by consumers, managers, and their implications for public policy, markets and marketing. Among other topics, Johnson has explored how the way options are presented to decision-makers affect their choices in areas such as organ donation, the choice of environmentally friendly products, and investments. Prof. Johnson's research and comments have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Money, Discover, Business Week and The Financial Times, and on The CBS Evening News and National Public Radio. Prior to founding Clarity Money, he started four companies: Buzzsaw.com, which was acquired by AutoDesk; MessageOne, which was acquired by Dell Technologies; Civitas Learning and SharedEarth. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, he has invested in a number of early stage companies, including OpenTable (PCLN), HotJobs (YHOO) and Ingenio (T). Prior to getting into the startup world, Adam worked as a corporate attorney with the law firm of Winstead, Sechrest & Minick. He received a degree in political economy from Tulane University and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to joining Clarity Money he was the VP of Engineering at CommonBond, a New York City startup focused on tech-enabled marketplace lending, where he built a world class engineering team and fostered a culture of innovation. He was responsible for the architecture, design and creation of their Loan Origination System which has generated over $500 million in student loan refinancing since it's launch. Before CommonBond he was a Technical Director at R/GA where he prototyped, developed and launched award winning work for Nike and Equinox Fitness Clubs.Read more

Hossein leads the Data Science team at Clarity Money, building a trusted financial advocate for himself and all consumers who feel puzzled when it comes to managing their finances. Prior to Clarity Money, he was a Senior Research Scientist at Google Research where he initiated and led multiple projects in collaboration with product teams such as Ad-Exchange. His work included identification and improvement of inefficiencies through exploratory data analysis and efficient algorithm design, as well as building complex A/B testing frameworks for auction systems to measure and illustrate improvements. Hossein received his Ph.D. in Computer Science (Economics and Computation) and Master's degree in Statistics from Harvard University. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. His PhD research was in the area of statistics and machine learning where he designed scalable algorithms for analyzing discrete choice data in applications such as social choice, voting, demand estimation and recommender systems. Marc has also been involved in other industries including mobile ad-tech (Flurry, Acquired by Yahoo) and Venture Capital (Rho Ventures). During his college years, Marc founded Help Me Get In, a college consulting start-up. Marc graduated from Harvard in 2014, where he earned a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He managed global partnerships for American Express' digital payments and prepaid business, growing the P&L double digits annually. Previously, he managed American Express' global business-to-business partnerships and product portfolio, which he grew 20+% annually. He also led the strategy for the $1B acquisition of GE Money's Payment Services and helped integrate the business. Before Amex, Colin led business development and operations for The Cobalt Group, prior to ADP acquiring it. He joined Cobalt from Model N, where he led business development and product strategy prior to Model N's IPO. He started at Model N at Series A, as employee #23, and after it acquired the software firm Conduit that Colin co-founded. He began his career at Trilogy Software where he was promoted to Director, Business Development. Colin graduated with honors from Harvard University. He adopts a user-centric approach to coding in all his work, ensuring features are as intuitive and easy to use as possible. Prior to joining Clarity, Andrew worked at Microsoft as a back-end software engineer on the Windows team. He graduated from Harvard in 2016 with a degree in Computer Science. While at Harvard, he taught himself iOS development and joined Paribus, a tech start-up, where he headed mobile development. Apart from programming, Andrew is passionate about music, and enjoys composing music for film. He recently got into EDM and tropical house production. He's been playing the piano since he was a kid, and occasionally enjoys picking up the guitar and singing. Fahim works on the Android app at Clarity Money. He joined Microsoft right after graduating with a Computer Science degree, where he worked on the Windows Phone Wallet, Cortana, and built one of the first prototypes for Windows Continuum. After that, he moved to Jet where he lead mobile development, building the first versions of both the iOS and Android apps. He also designed and built one of the first VR product browsing experiences. Fahim then worked on the Android app and Kiosk iPad app (built in ReactJS) at Dolly before moving to Clarity Money. He enjoys skiing, playing tennis, and badminton in his free time.Read more

Basak leads the automation effort at Clarity Money and takes roles in integrating development and testing cycles. She holds double majors: B.S. in Computer Science and B.A. in Literature, and M.S. In Information Management. Prior to joining Clarity Money, she worked at Yieldmo, Verizon Wireless, Citigroup and Marriott International. She also gained a brief entrepreneurship experience as one of the co-founders of a startup while her professional career is on hiatus in order not to miss watching her children's first steps. Before getting into professional work life, she enjoyed doing fundamental research at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a visiting scientist while pursuing her undergraduate study and following to her graduation. Basak loves teaching and had teaching appointments during her undergraduate and master's studies and later volunteered for teaching at STEM and Girls Who Code programs to help young girls not to be left behind.Read more
