Marcus Insights: Smart tools to help you optimize your money

Marcus Insights is a collection of smart tools and trackers designed to help you see your money clearly and make empowered financial decisions. Marcus Insights makes it easy to learn something new about your finances: explore your spending breakdown by category, monitor your cash flow, and review how much you’ve spent with your most frequented merchants. To get started, link your external accounts from thousands of institutions. The more accounts you link, the better your insights.

With Marcus Insights, you are able to link your external accounts from thousands of available institutions.

The bank must be located in the U.S., in certain U.S. territories (U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa), or in/on a U.S. military base or diplomatic facility.

Although not a comprehensive list, the following accounts are generally supported:

• Savings, checking, and money market accounts
• Credit cards and prepaid cards
• Personal loans, car loans, mortgages, and other loans
• Brokerage, retirement, and other investment accounts

The more accounts you link, the better your insights.

With Marcus Insights, thousands of institutions are available to link. When attempting to link, type the name of your financial institution. Once you see your financial institution, try linking it by using the same credentials you use to log in at their website or app.

When attempting to link your account, if your financial institution is not supported, you’ll see the option to type in your institution name and send to us. We’ll use this information to improve our product over time. 

If you are unable to link to a supported financial institution using your credentials, it’s possible that your institution is making changes on their end that may disrupt the ability to link to Marcus Insights.

Here are some steps you can take to try to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Open a browser in a private window or tab
2. Log in to your account without using a password manager or auto-fill
3. Complete any multi-factor authentication steps (typically, only security questions and code via text or code are accepted when linking to Insights)
4. Try to link again at Marcus
